INSIGHTS: U.S. passes debt ceiling


The U.S. Government breached their debt ceiling of $31.4tn on 19th January 2023 and is currently sitting on $31.6tn. With no consensus and a rapidly approaching June deadline, the debt ceiling issue continues to rage on in the US, causing an intolerable counterparty risk with the possibility of a credit downgrade on the US and higher debt costs, encouraging short bonds, long cash.
