Key Takeaways
- Silver has bounced off the same major support level twice since July.
- A double bottom can signal recovery, but the weekly close has to confirm it.
- Risk markets are wobbling without crashing, and silver buyers have held on.
Last week silver has hit a major support level and managed to bounce rather than breaking down further, falling about 6% to roughly US$55.6 an ounce on 14 October 2026 after a hot September US CPI print and recovering to US$57.29 by 18 October 2026 (Trading Economics, Forbes, 15 October 2026). The weekly candle chart below highlights the fall from its extreme run upward early this year, from the record intraday high of US$121.58 set on 29 January 2026 (Forbes, 15 October 2026). The first bounce on the major support level (yellow) happened back in July, at eight month lows near US$55.58 on 17 July 2026 (Yahoo Finance, 17 July 2026). Now the price has revisited the same level and has successfully bounced so far, but awaiting weekly confirmation. In Australian dollars the low was A$78.93 on 15 October 2026, with spot back at A$82.33 on 19 October 2026 (Brisbane Gold Company, GoldSilverPrices).

Below, the daily chart already shows confirmation of the silver bounce. This does not guarantee that silver will rise. The double-bottom pattern, in which the price chart forms a "W" shape, is indicative of a bullish recovery. Failure to break the same price floor two times can build conviction toward price recovery. Analysts reading the same chart note silver needs a break above US$60 to strengthen the recovery, and that a breach of US$55 would be a bad sign (FXEmpire, 16 October 2026).

On the Fundamental front, signals are still mixed. Talk of a crash or correction in risk markets has yet to play out in dramatic fashion. US Tech has dipped but only in-line with where it was roughly 4 weeks prior: the Nasdaq Composite closed at 26,140.03 on 16 October 2026 against 26,522.54 on 18 September 2026 (Investing.com). Whether there is more of a fall to come and if it comes sooner or later, so far silver buyers have held the line. Ainslie Bullion has been helping Australians hold physical silver since 1974, and a floor tested twice tends to reward accumulating through the base rather than timing a single entry.
