Most of China's central bank gold has sat in London, because metal has to sit in a major market to be tradeable. The People's Bank of China is reportedly shifting reserves to Hong Kong, which is building the vaults, clearing and Asian-hours pricing to trade it, though London still dominates physical bullion and will for some time.
