Our now retired Brian Engeman often told his story of 2 coins… A 1966 50c piece and a 2013 50c piece. The former was made of 1/3 Oz of silver, the latter worthless ‘tin’. The former would buy your lunch in 1966… and worth about $8.50 now in silver, it still does. The latter might buy the sauce to put on the 2 pies you just bought with your 1966 50c piece. It’s a great lesson in money v currency over the long term coinciding with a 5 day period that saw silver rise 13%. We saw this photo which also puts it nicely in US terms too…
