The dragon is a fabled reptilian creature that has been popular in many cultures since antiquity. In Western

folklore it is portrayed as a malevolent winged beast that breathes fire. In the Eastern tradition, however, the

serpentine-shaped dragon is a benevolent symbol of power and good fortune.

With a record of sell outs, this annual bar-shaped investment coin struck from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver

portrays a striking design of a mythical beast that has been feared and revered for millennia and issued as legal

tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 250,000 of the Rectangular Dragon 2024 1oz Silver Bullion Coin.

The reverse portrays an oriental dragon eyeing a flaming pearl, a symbol of wisdom. The background includes representations of water over which the dragon has control, and clouds, omens of good luck. The design also incorporates the inscription '2024’, which in lunar mythology is the Year of the Dragon, and a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary. The obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, and monetary denomination.

Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver and issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

The coin’s reverse depicts a stylised Chinese dragon and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

The obverse bears The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, featuring the Jody Clark effigy supplemented with the dates of Her Majesty’s reign. Also included are the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination and 2023 year-date.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 250,000 of the Dragon 2023 1oz Silver Bullion Rectangular Coin.

The Dragon 2023 1oz Silver Bullion Rectangular Coin is presented without capsule in protective, convenient tubes of 20 coins. There are 10 tubes to a monster box.
